Inspiration comes in many forms, and these days nothing kicks my creative juices into high gear more than a scroll through my Instagram feed. Every time I sneak at peek at the pictures I’ve become obsessed with, I’m taunted with images of delicious dinners, thriving gardens, and enviable baked goods.
Here’s a list of 8 of my favourite foodie mamas that you should be following on Instagram:
1. Luisa Weiss @wednesdaychef:
There isn’t a week that goes by that I’m not staring enviably at the food Luisa is making for her blog and/or her baby. Most recently I was smitten with the spaghetti vongole her shirtless toddler was stuffing into his mouth while tucked into his highchair.
2. Sarah Huggins @kiwiandbean:
This Canadian lawyer-turned-food-blogger is cooking up some pretty fantastic things for her family, and I love catching a glimpse of her fabulous home cooked dinners. She’s also a champ at feeding her almost seven-month-old son meals that even I would be happy to nosh on.
3. Aimee-Wimbush Bourque @aimeebourque:
An urban homesteader, mama to three, and food blogger extraordinaire, Aimee’s feed is a visual feast, leaving you hungry, inspired, and suffering from a serious case of garden envy. If you’re into stunning food photography, kids who cook, gorgeous tablescapes, and mouth-watering meals you certainly need to look no further than here for your daily dose of inspiration.
4. Jenny Rosenstrach @dinneralovestory:
There is no blog I want to read more than Jenny’s, and I’m equally as obsessed with her books and think they should be required reading for all home cooks with young kids at home. Her simple family-focused photos give you a glimpse into the faces behind the blog, and I promise you, they only make you like the Ward family even more that you probably already do.
5. Julie Van Rosendall @dinnerwithjulie:
I don’t know anyone who spends more time in the kitchen than Julie, and her photos tell the tale of her daily cooking adventures, leaving your wishing you were her next door neighbour so you could pop over and enjoy some of her homemade cooking. As one of Canada’s most popular food writers, Julie’s pretty pictures will leave you craving everything she cooks. Thank goodness she’s really great about sharing all of her recipes on her popular blog, Dinner with Julie.
6. Lucinda Scala Quinn @madhungryLSQ:
When it comes to feeding a house full of hungry boys (something I’m starting to know a little about), no one completes the task with more savvy than Lucinda Scala Quinn, the Editorial Food Director of Martha Stewart Living. Her food photos are a collection of some of the most enviable dinners on the web and constantly provide me with ideas for feeding my own growing boys.
7. Catherine McCord @Weelicious:
With fifty-seven thousand followers, you can bet that mom, foodie, blogger, and author Catherine is posting pictures you’ll want to make sure you see. Known for her fabulous lunch box creations, her midday meals are the inspiration you’re going to need to next month when the kids head back to school.
8. Jennifer Perillo @jenniferperillo:
Jennie’s dinners are definitely some of the most inspiring images I see each week, and I love her comfortable, rustic family-friendly table settings that just so happen to look guest-worthy, too. Whether you’re a casual home cook or seasoned chef, one quick look at Jennie’s feed will leave you motivated and encouraged by her thoughtful approach to cooking for her family.
