Toast has become big news in the world of cooking over the last year. From avocado toast (last years obsession) to topping our toast with non-nut (but that taste like nut) butters, people are falling over their feet for toast. And for good reason. Toast is filling yet healthy, quick and easy to make and it can be topped in more ways than we can possibly count. But, sadly sometimes a toaster can be an eye-sore in a modern kitchen and it tends to get hidden away as fast as our toast is well, toasted.
Enter my newest kitchen obsession: The Smeg Toaster. Based in Italy, Smeg is known for its retro and durable kitchen appliances. With everything from the coolest looking refrigerators to coffee machines, kettles, mixers and even blenders, Smeg has been expanding their offerings for cool-looking (and energy-efficient!) kitchen gadgets and appliances. According to Smeg, "they are for those who love to surround themselves with strong aesthetics without compromising high quality and performance". I couldn't agree more.
Smeg's new toaster - available in a 2-slice or a 4-slice - is sleek, modern and playful. Available in 6 (dare we say adorable) colours, ranging from a pale dusty pink to baby blue and the sleekest of blacks, I promise this is one kitchen appliance that you won't be hiding away in the cupboard.
