Just as the name implies, Petite & Sweet is a charming, pretty, and light-filled shop dedicated to all things sweet. The fusion of an event planning company and a sweet couturier, Petite & Sweet opened its first boutique about five weeks ago, in the heart of Summerhill. Their bakery and sweet shop now resides in trendy Leslieville on Queen Street West.
What to order? Make your honey feel ultra-special with their stunning 'sweet table in a box'. Guaranteed to leave a sweet impression each box includes an assortment of French macarons, gourmet marshmallows, dipped pretzels, dipped shortbread cookies and chocolate covered almonds. Need we say more?

2. SOMA Chocolatemaker
Nestled in the heart of Toronto’s ultra-trendy Distillery District, SOMA is considered an institution among chocolate-loving Torontonians. Known for their attention to detail, the chocolatiers at SOMA make their chocolate directly from free-trade cocoa beans sourced from plantations all over the world. Not only is SOMA a wonderful place to sample some outstanding chocolate, it’s also a fantastic place to learn more about the bean to bar process. SOMA is outfitted with viewing windows that look onto the petite chocolate factory, so you can watch these chocolate-wielding wizards work in real time.
What to order? The BIG chocolate heart filled with an addictive raspberry hazelnut butter on a bed of roasted pumpkin seeds tumbled in white chocolate. She'll think she died and went to chocolate heaven...

3. NADÈGE Macarons
For the lady who loves her sweets, these almond meringue wonders from NADÈGE are skillfully crafted to deliver a delicate crunch. Filled with billowing layers of flavoured buttercream, ganache or jam, they are ultra-posh and indulgent. 4. Beta 5 Chocolate
Located in a contemporary and innovative chocolate and pastry shop in an unassuming wharehouse building in Vancouver (yes, we know Vancouver is NOT in Toronto, but Beta 5 was simply too cool and too amazing to NOT include in this round-up), Beta 5 Chocolate has been tauted as one of North America's Top 10 Chocolatiers. They not only do chocolate, but delicate pastries, cream puffs and modern desserts, all made with the finest ingredients by skilled artisans.

Located in the heart of downtown Toronto, the eclairs at Delysees are probably one of the best things we have eaten this year (or heck, any year). Quite simply, they know how to make the deliciousness of 'choux' pastries the right way. They have a wide array of luscious and mind-blowing flavours (including Champagne, chocolate, pistachio, coconut and many more) that will keep your love supremely happy this V-day. An added bonus? Delysees also has the largest selection of macarons in Toronto along with handmade chocolates and French pastries.
What to order? The raspberry cream eclair has romance written all over it.
6. Butter Avenue
Known for some of the best macarons in the city, Butter Avenue bakery offers delicious French pastries that won’t disappoint. With locations both uptown and on Queen Street West, your date will definitely be charmed by their beautiful and sophisticated sweet treats.
What to order? A selection of macarons. Pure and simple (and still utterly indulgent).
7. Desmond & Beatrice Cupcakes
Is your sweatheart a cupcake-lover? Desmond & Beatrice is our pick for you. Located in the heart of trendy Leslieville in Toronto, Desmond & Beatrice is a kick-ass bake shop, custom making everything from cupcakes to cakes, cookies and scones. Their products have been created using only natural, fresh ingredients, which they bake fresh seven days a week, and taste is always put first. You can either visit their shop at Queen and Broadview or order online and they will deliver their decadent treats right to your door.
What to order?
