Winter is over, the sun is shining and people can finally go back outdoors without their tears freezing. And while you’ve got your tongs and your folding chairs ready, the party could use a little more. Here are some things to help your party go a little smoother and put some fun back into the regular outdoor get together.
1. Mini Grill
Ever drive all the way to a park or a beach and realize there’s no spot to cook? No worry, that’s why you brought the mini grill. Portable and convenient, electric or gas, mini grills come in all shapes and sizes and make for a great fix to when all the other grills are taken. Mini grills are also great for camping, tailgating parties or even if you want to throw on some extra food while the big grill does its work.
2. Wireless Speakers
Forget putting your phone in a bowl to amp up the sound. Get the party really started with wireless speakers. Available in any electronics shop, in fun colours and different sizes, they’re an easy to way to bring some life into the weekend and fix awkward silences. Take them along to the beach and blast your favourite tunes while playing in the sand, or use them to create a calm mood while lounging in the sun. With music, the possibilities are endless.
3. Flexible Skewers
Leave the straight wooden skewers on the grocery store shelf and invest in flexible ones. Made out of stainless steel, they make marinating food easier with the ability to place them in bowls or plastic bags, and are easier to put on the grill because they can fold whichever way you need. All that flexibility makes for convenient storage over the winter months and because they’re easy to wash and reuse, you’ll save money and cut back on waste.
4. Food Covers
There’s nothing worse than to have a wasp buzzing around your party, ruining the mood. Then it lands on your food. Or you’re enjoying a picnic in the grass and then you find ants. Or flies. Or ladybugs. Or bees. Don’t let bugs ruin your fun. Protect your meal with food covers. They also come in all shapes, sizes, materials and colours that are easy to transport and conveniently simple.
5. Tiki Torches
Everyone knows the party really gets started after the sun goes down. So don’t let mosquitos and darkness put a stop to the fun. Tiki torches are a great piece for decoration and some tiki torch fuel also doubles as an incest repellent. Stick them in the ground and light them up when needed, but be careful of flammable materials or accidentally knocking them over.
