A complete breakfast in a glass!

We all know that getting enough antioxidants—substances found in some foods that help protect our cells from damage—is important. But, sometimes it can be tough to fit everything in that we know we should be eating, in a day. Enter one of our go-to morning solutions for busy people on-the-go: The antioxidant-rich smoothie with crunchy toppings. With this quick and easy breakfast you can incorporate all of the goodness that you can into the smoothie (think blueberries, Greek yogurt, banana and superfoods), and you can boost the nutrient-factor even more by sprinkling the top with known antioxidant-rich foods (nuts, seeds, berries and cacao nibs). We also love the synergy between the creamy smoothie and the crunch you get from nuts, seeds and cacao nibs. So, if you've got 10 minutes in the morning, we bet you can whip this up and feel amazing all day long.
1 ripe banana
1 1/2 cups frozen blueberries or mixed berries
1/2 cup pomegranate juice
1/2 cup plain greek yogurt
1 scoop vegan protein powder (optional)
1 cup milk (almond, soy or 1%)
1/2 cup fresh blueberries
2 tbsp sliced almonds
2 tbsp cacao nibs or bittersweet chocolate shavings
Place all ingredients in a blender and blitz until completely smooth. Divide smoothie between 2 tall glasses. Sprinkle with fresh blueberries, sliced almonds and dark chocolate or cocao nibs.
